Natural Homemade Soap
For Your Best Friend

nonami greeting

My name is 'Mon Ami', that's French for 'My Friend'. My mistress, Bobbie Jean, loves all
animals, especially dogs, and it made her very unhappy to hear all her dog owner friends talking about how much their dogs were suffering. So, she did a whole bunch of research and decided to start making really good, natural soap for me and all of my friends.

We all had fleas, awfull bites and sores, itchy hot spots, and we didn't smell very pretty sometimes either, especially on hot summer days. But now, after using Bobbie Jean's soap, we all feel better, smell better, and have soft, shiny coats. We are now very happy dogs!

So, be a best friend to your best friend with all natural, homemade soaps and other products from Blessed Be.

Olive Oil is a fat obtained from the olive (the fruit of Olea europaea; family oleaceae), a traditional tree crop of the Mediterranean Basin. The oil is produced by grinding whole olives and extracting the oil. It is commonly used in cooking, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals and soaps and as a fuel for traditional oil lamps. Virgin means the oil was produced by the use of physical means and no chemical treatment. Olive oil contains a wide variety of valuable antioxidants that are not found in other oils. Olive oil has been known for generations not only for its healing qualities but also as a natural, deep penetration moisturizer, regenerating skin cells and softening tissues. Olive oil is unlikely to cause allergic reactions.

Shea Butter is a slightly yellowish or ivory - colored fat extracted from the nut of the African shea tree (Vitellaria paradoxa). It is widely used in cosmetics as a moisturizer, salve or lotion. Shea Butter is edible and is used in food preparation. Occasionally the chocolate industry uses shea butter mixed with other oils as a substitute for cocoa butter, although the taste is different. Shea butter is mainly used in cosmetics, such as lip gloss, moisturizer creams, emulsions, and hair conditioners. Shea butter is also used as a base for medicinal ointments. Some of the isolated chemical constituents are reported to have anti-inflamatory, emollient and humectant properties. It is also used as a sunblocking lotion and has a limited capacity to absorb ultraviolet radiation.

Neem Oil is a vegetable oil pressed from the fruits and seeds of the neem (Azadirachta indica), an evergreen tree which is endemic to the Indian subcontinent and has been introduced to many other areas in the tropics. It is the most important of the commercially available products of neem for organic farming and medicines. Neem is used for preparing cosmetics (soap, hair products, body hygiene creams and hand creams). It repels numerous insects and is especially usefull in the control of fleas, mites mosquitoes and tics.

French Green Illite Clay
Natural healing for all living creatures

Growing up in Provence, South of France, the use of green ILLITE clay was a part of our lives. Mom made me drink it, would spray her plants with a clay/water solution, it was given to dogs, cats, horses... Internally and externally..

After moving to the US and becoming fully involved in the horse world, I became aware of how little was known about the benefits of the green illite french clay. It is my hope to bring the clay and its healing properties into public awareness.

Guaranteed 100 % natural, green illite clay is a natural source of the following major trace elements, vital for our health, safety and well being : Magnesium(Mg), Calcium(Ca), Potassium(K), Manganese(Mn), Zinc(Zn), Phosphorus(P), Iron(Fe), Aluminum(Al), Silicon(Si), Copper(Cu), Selenium(Se), Cobalt(Co), Molybdenum(Mo) as well as lots of other elements.

Clay is thought to be the basis for the CREATION. For some scientists, it is the “CRADLE OF LIFE”. Clay is a bio mineral of various colors depending on its composition. The green ILLITE is a non-swelling clay, known to have fantastic healing properties. Acting as a catalyst for our bodies vital functions, its selective power will naturally balance and harmonize the activity of endocrine glands and all metabolisms. Acting as a “ sponge “ and a “ magnet “ , its aBsorbing and aDsorbing powers ( extra and intra cellular levels ) will help you eliminate toxins and bacteria .

Clay has been used for thousands of years, and yet, no one can pin down fully what makes it a healer.

Some are only happy to use it in every case they judge appropriate, and achieve great results. This is why we are full of wonder everytime clay accomplishes a cure we did not expect, in so little time.

Most users of clay leave scientific explanations aside when they come astounded by the accomplishements of clay.

Clay is effective as a DYNAMIC PRESENCE far more significantly than a mere consideration of the substances it contains.

It is a catalyst rather than an agent itself.

This is possible because clay is ALIVE.

Clay is a live medium which helps generate and maintain life.

This clay does not come from someone's backyard! Every extraction is analized and inspected and meets all microbiological standards. This green ILLITE clay will always be at its purest and highest quality.
The use of clay is endless ! Internally and externally..

The reader should know that i am not a doctor, but a simple witness of the "miracles of clay".

Much of the material here, is gathered from Dr Dextreit, the most popular and most read French naturopath, who has made the clay treatment well known.

Welcome ! And enjoy...

Seasonal or Environmental
Some breeds are more prone than others to experience a seasonal response to allergens like pollen or grass fungus. We see a considerable spike in dog skin problems in the summer months. It’s the change of seasons that brings about a change in the dog’s environment, indoors and out.

When the vet cannot find a specific allergen (food, insect, mite), the resulting diagnosis might be dermatitis, “which implies an allergic response to something inhaled.”

A sure sign that something’s afoot is when a dog constantly licks his feet and/or his genitals. Close inspection of the underbelly might reveal pigment changes, either widespread or localized, often rust-colored, sometimes charcoal gray or black. Sometimes the belly skin shows tiny pinpoints of pigment that look like blackheads, but are not. This is different from “flea dirt", which washes off. Look for crustiness on the edges of the ears, redness around the mouth and chin, thick dandruff, any bad smell, or any hair loss accompanied by gray patches of skin. Any one of these signs means the pet parent needs to take fast action to avert an onset of something more serious.

Help Your Best Friend Feel Better
There is nothing better than a great, full-body massage to make a dog’s eyes roll back in his head with pleasure, whether the dog itches or not. Ask me about a Dead Sea anti-dandruff salt scrub at bath time to exfoliate and deep-clean the skin and follicles. DOGS love this. Also, you might try a good dry rub (all over) with French Green Clay Powder which cleans and refreshes the hair and skin. DOGS love this too.

What Else You Can Do
Read the ingredients on all products you feed to or use on your pets. Eliminate all products with SLS, steroids or petroleum products, for example: if an ingredient looks unfamiliar to you, look it up on Wikepedia or ask your vet and satisfy yourself that it’s safe to give to or use on “Your Best Friend”.

Fleas are similar to cockroaches in that they adapt to their environment. They become stronger and more immune to popular chemicals with each generation. Most fleas live in your pet’s environment, rather than in its fur. Every flea found on your pet means that there are approximately 30 more living in your home. A single flea can lay as many as 60 eggs per day and has a lifespan of about 90 days.

Read product labels on flea collars, shampoos and anything you use on your pet. Look at the warning on the labels,
DO NOT LET CHILDREN PLAY WITH THE FLEA COLLAR.” If it’s not good for your child...
why would it be good for your pet?

Natural Plant Essential Oils
Natural Products which can help eliminate one of your dog’s worst enemies is a natural plant oil used to combat fleas. A new option is here for many dog owners who are looking for a safer and more natural approach to treating fleas. It’s called aromatherapy. These powerful oils are extracted from plants. The formula is rubbed into the dog’s coat and is believed to be very effective. Many of the plant oils also contain essential oils such as lavender, lemongrass and peppermint which all help to create a very soothing sensation on your pet’s skin and coat.

Food Additives To Help Your Best Friend Feel Better
Fleas dislike the flavor of garlic and nutritional or brewer’s yeast. Mixing garlic and yeast in your pet’s food can render its blood unpalatable to fleas. Use about a teaspoon of yeast in your dog's food daily for small dogs and a tablespoon for a 50 pound dog. Discontinue use if your dog develops a skin rash. Also a thin sliver of garlic may be added to your dog's food. Other natural repellents include vitamin B1 and apple cider vinegar. Please check with your veterinarian for the proper amount and frequency before using vitamin E, yeast, garlic and/or vinegar.

What Else You Can Do
Combing your dog daily is an important part of flea control and don’t forget the bathing. Take a little extra time when you bathe your best friend. Use an all natural soap and warm water and your dog will love that natural rub down as you shampoo and rinse.
